What is a Heat Exchanger? And Types of Heat Exchangers

What is a Heat Exchanger?

A heat exchanger is a device for transferring heat to two or more fluids. In other words, the heat exchanger is used for the cooling and heating process. Fluids can be separated by solid walls to prevent mixing, or they can be in direct contact. Galaxy Industrial Equipment - Top Heat Exchanger Manufacturer In India, according to our international and domestic customer specifications. Galaxy Industrial Equipment are involved in the manufacture and supply of all types of heat exchanger. Our heat exchangers are made of high quality steel with high structural strength and long service life. Galaxy Industrial Equipment products are characterized by high surface quality, excellent performance and easy maintenance. Our heat exchangers are recognized in the market. We are the best Heat Exchanger Manufacturer In India.

Feature Of Galaxy Heat Exchanger:

  • Flexible In Design
  • Suitable For High Temp.& Pressure Compatibility
  • Can Handle High Level Of {articulate Material
  • Mechanically Simple In Design
  • Com[aratively Low In Cost
  • Suitable For 2-Phase Application

Types of Heat Exchanger

1. Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers:

Shell and tube heat exchangers consist of a large number of small tubes that are located inside a cylindrical shell. The tube is positioned into the cylinder using a tube bundle or "tube stack" which may have a fixed tube sheet (permanently attached to the body) or, in the case of a Thermex heat exchanger, the tube bundle may expand the tube bundle. It also shrinks under different thermal conditions and allows the tube bundle to be easily disassembled for repair and maintenance.

Benefits of Using Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers?

  • Shell and tube heat exchangers have higher heat transfer efficiency.
  • These heat exchangers are the best solution for swimming pool heating, mining machinery, hydraulic power packs and more.
  • These heat exchangers can be easily removed. Therefore, cleaning and repair are easy.
  • The heat exchanger is compact in size.
  • The capacity of these heat exchangers can be increased by adding plates in pairs.
  • These exchangers are affordable compared to plate coolers.
  • Since the stress test is relatively simple, one can easily find the pipe leaks and fix them.
  • These heat exchangers can be used in systems with higher operating temperatures and pressures.

2. Plate Heat Exchangers:

Plate heat exchangers operate in much the same way as shell and tube heat exchangers, using a series of stacked plates instead of tubes. Plate heat exchangers are typically brazed or gasketed depending on the application and fluid used. Its compact stainless steel construction makes it ideal for refrigerant or food and beverage processing.

3. Semi-welded Plate Heat Exchangers:

Semi-welded heat exchangers are used for both organic and inorganic chemical treatments when the chemicals involved limit the choice of gaskets that can be used or when the required design pressure is such that the fully gasketed plate and frame heat exchangers are insufficient.

Advantages of  Semi Welded Plate Heat Exchangers

  • Easy to clean gasket exchange surface
  • Low pollution tendency.
  • Fast and economical installation.
  • The heat transfer coefficient is high.
  • Extremely resistant to corrosion.
  • Easy to replace washers - combination washer frame.
